Scott's in Halifax and Pittsylvania Counties, Virginia

As some of our members pointed out, if you have the right lines and religion you do not need to leave your home to do

your research.  Yes, for some it comes easier than others.  We early American downliners, have such a mixed  heritage we seldom have anything near that type of success.

We seem to have various religious backgrounds and changing as the time moves forward.  Having found some    genetic backgrounds are more true to the basic faith…

Puzzle Pieces, That is What They Are

Puzzle Pieces, That is What They Are

Putting together new data into my program, my mind said, new pieces to the puzzle.

Yes, they are new pieces to the puzzle.  That is why we ask or are supposed to be asking each family member for help in resolving our lost data.

Each member of the family takes away a different thought besides their shared thoughts. Each person remembers activities differently in prospective to their selves instead of…

Seminar was a Success- New Researching to Happen

Out Fall Seminar turned out with a small crowd but great speakers. We learned a lot about Germany and Research and we learned a lot about Scottish/Irish Ancestors.

Sis broke her neck the next day when she became ill and fell.  Spent month at hospital and is recovering nicely now, at our home.

We are going to try some new methods of Education for our society members. Jamboree's and Seminars are getting priced out of many's income bracket.…

Still Homesick but Tree at our current Home

Before the  drought and we had lawn.  I am told this is a Texas Umbrella Tree. It sheds flowers, seed pods and leaves depending on the season.  We have trimmed it back many times, our friends never got bigger than 8 feet in Spring Valley, CA. It obviously likes this clay ground.  Do you have a connection to trees?  It reminds me of all the relatives…

Is your research methods up to date?

Do you use http://blog.geneawebinars.com/, or other webinars?  Do you use Google + and the hangouts they have?

Have you stepped into the next level of Genealogy yet?   What about U Tube?

Any way give some of them a try.  Might find the brickwall your looking for.

Missing Family Member, Do You Have One?

A traumatic event happened here recently.  Has it happened in your family?  If so, did it affect how the family

responds to events involving family activities.?

Recently a distant family member went missing, 20 years of age, at college.  We see this all the time any more

but it was on our doorstep.  Late today we got word from the parents he has been found and is in hospital, more data

 to come.

   It suddenly…

Sibling Saturday, Yup, I have some.

Going to try a different approach, this time.  I have three siblings all younger than I am.

One sorta interested in genealogy, the rest, I am not sure about.

I did learn that they all are somewhat interested in the medical side of our history for themselves or

for their children.  Why people are not excited to learn about our medical background leaves me dumbfounded.

Any time we can prevent or forestall having a disease, we owe it to…

Phishing, do you know what it is? or does?

Today, Shirley Becker gave a small presentation on phishing. Telling members what damage it can do and what to look for in your emails or phone calls.  Remember a bank will never email you data a Phishing person asks, if in doubt, first always call the bank and ask. I myself have never found the bank to do this and they say it is not their policy  to email you for the types of information Phishing people ask.

  1. You can call your bank and verify if they…
