Hi Everyone
I am John Laws, a member of the Guild of One Name Studies, researching LAW, LAWE, LAWES, LAWS, LAWSE World-Wide though my own LAWS family came from the Stepney/Bethnal Green/Mile End area and were mostley Mariners, and my earliest is Henry son of John & Mary Laws from Walworth, fairly newly built when he was born in 1800.

I can do look ups for records stored at Manchester Local History Archive in the UK which is going to be one of the seven centres for the early release of the 1911 census.

To the leader of this group:
I would like to discuss with you how this site works and how I can be of help to others. I live in Oregon and have many hundreds of headstone photos from various cemeteries.

Thank you,

My name is Barb Mercure. I live in Shelburne, Vermont located just south of Burlington, Vermont on the shores of Lake Champlain. I am a member of the Vermont French Canadian Genealogic Society (www.vt-fcgs.org) and have access to Vermont Vital records from 1760 to 1941, Drouin and Loiselle marriages, Tanguay, Jette, PRDH, many Quebec repertoires and many Vermont parish(mostly catholic). I am willing to do single item look-ups as I have the access but we would have to discuss donations to the Society if the research requires a lengthy search. Expenses for copies would have to be remitted. My email is bjkmerc@myfairpoint.net.

I need a look up for Drura Pilkington/Pilkinton for his will. I have been told that it is on page 23 of Marion County Probate Records Vol II. If you can find it and send me a photocopy of it. I would love it. My email address is "dlevine1@cfl.rr.com". Thank you again.

Hey

I am in need of some immigration and marriage record info. In 1913 Robert Nestor Lehto (altho it says Lehta on the record...cuz his o kinda looked like an A) married Anna Lindstrom, daughter of Edward and Rosa Lindstrom, in Detroit, Michigan. Anna was born in 1892 and died in 1930 near Spencer, NY. I have been told that she may have come over around 1911 thru Boston from Finland or Sweden but I don't know where to check for Boston records.... :/

After Anna died Robert married an Aino E. I don't know her last name and the earliest record I have found of her is a news paper article from 1946 stating that their land is going from just being in Robert's name to being in both their names. Im thinking this is when they married. Aino E was born in 1894 possably in Finland and died in 1970 in Spencer, NY. She's burried in the family cemetary next to Robert and Anna.

Another mystery is Frans Nestor Osterlund. He was Robert's father (Robert changed his surname to Lehto sometime between 1911 and 1913, while his brother Frans Rippert or Ruppert changed his to Alve). He and his wife came over in 1917. She (her name was Edla Aurora) died in 1919 near Spencer, NY and it's believed he went back to Finland.
