Janice, My Atkinsons are in Fayette County and the name ranges from Ad/tkins to Attkinson - most all variations inbetween. Keep trying it is well worth it when you get a hit and find info on lots of family members. Remember that the info is only as good as the person who gave and recorded the it. I have found some really strrange spellings so be creative.

Thanks Kay, it is slow! I didn't find anything yet but will keep trying. I'm also searching for Browns and Atkesons (which I read are related to the Atkinsons) but in Putnam County.

Just joined this site. My families are mostly from Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Nicholas, Monongalia, and a few other counties. The names are Brown, Gillespie, Frame, Nichols, Nicholas, Stansberry, Utt, Mccutcheon, Atkinson, to name a few.

It is a great place to find birth, marriage and death information. It's server is old and slow so just keep trying and eventually it will find something for you. It uses a wild card * for those spelling differences. Always check the list of counties to the far right of the search screen to make sure the years you are looking for are on line. Usually from the earliest keeping of record date to pretty much nothing later than 1957. You can save the records at pictures or print them out. Great site!

Looking for info on my husband's Great-Grandmother who was born in Virginia between 1835-40. The area she was born later became West Virginia. Her name was Amanda Ellen Barnes and she married William Warner and came to Wisconsin. She died died Aug 5, 1884 in Chase, Oconto, WI. Her family was supposedly wealthy and lived in a large home with many servants. Does this ring a bell with anyone? She named her children Ira, Alice and Nellie. I'd appreciate any help.

Currently I am researching the descendants of George and Phoebe Fetty of Monongalia County, the descendants of James and Margaret Mundell of Greene Co., PA, and the ever elusive Bise/Bice/Boyce/Boice/etc., etc. clan

I am researching the ancestry and descendants of JONATHAN and SARAH (PUGH) NIXON who resided near BOOTHSVILLE in the original HARRISON COUNTY, VIRGINIA from about 1784-85 through the early 1800's. Associated surnames of extended families are TUCKER, NUTTER, STARR, VEACH, WEBB, FREEMAN, BOOTH and ASHCRAFT.

Does anyone know someone who is active in the Order of the Eastern Star in Raleigh County, WV. I am trying to find out who the sponsor was for my GG Grandmother. Otherwise, I will be sending a letter off to them soon.
