I have a Peter Lemon but don't know for sure if it is yours. I will check and get back to you. Lemons were in Virginia also going back to the 1700s. However, I was told that some moved away because of discrimination but don't know what it was.

One more thing, my great grandfather was Irish. Possibly Scots Irish. I am yet to figure out anything else about their heritage.

Hi Alison, there is a possibility we have Lemons in common. My ancestors were in Abingdon, Ware, botecourt and basically all over Virginia Some of them left and moved to NY, NJ, PA and other places. Could you share more information about them in the late 1800s? Also, were any of them native american?
