Rebecca, it sounds good, almost TOO good. You know what they say, "If it sounds to good to be true....." I think I'd be a little leery.

I guess it probably is a fence and only part of it remains, It doesn't really lead anywhere, and the posts or obelisks start in the middle of the cemetery. It probably made more sense if we could have seen it about 150 years ago.

I think Finn may be right. It even looks like a path between the two rows of obelisks.

Finn, I was wondering that too, but there are tombstones next to some of the obelisks, which seems odd. The tombstones in the same row as the obelisks are pretty old.

Cindy I don't know for sure what they might be, but I am wondering if they are not fence posts that might have had a chain between each one marking a path or road.

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm talking about the obelisk stones. This is an old cemetery, most burials are in the mid to late 1800's. That may help. Thanks!

Does anyone know what these are? They are in the cemetery, but don't appear to have any any inscriptions on them. There are holes in the top. I have never

seen this before.

Darlina, good points. I go to the cemeteries because I like it; it's interesting. If there is a photo request, I don't claim it until I get the picture. That way, the person isn't disappointed if I don't get the picture. When I'm at the cemetery, if I see an interesting marker, I take the picture. Small cemeteries I try to take the entire cemetery and all the markers. If they're already posted, great! If they're not, great! I just do it because I like to. And, if someone asks me for a transfer, no problem, unless I am related to them. However, when someone asks me to add information, I usually transfer the memorial to them without them asking, because I try to prove everything before it's added, and, if they're wanting to add info, I figure they're related anyway. I love findagrave, I have no problems with them, and hope they continue long after I'm gone. It's a good way to preserve history for those that come after us and maybe even help them down their genealogy trail.

I appreciated your comments Darlina. It is refreshing to hear from a positive person who gets on with the job. I get so tired of the negative people who whine over every bump in the road of life. Keep up your good work and excellent attitude.
