"Hey Joyce, you guys have had it really hot over there I hear. My Slayden't were in Fulton for a time, then Graves, and then McCracken Co. The majority of Slaytons were in Hopkins, so they may have filtered into Caldwell. There are many…"
"Julia, I am also a FAG addict, I volunteer in the western part of KY, mainly in Trigg but have done some in Christian, Caldwell, Lyon, Marshall and Calloway counties. But I have been doing genealogy research since the mid 70's."
"It creates a whole new program, it does not over write the old one. The only thing is that once you create a tree in 2010 format it will not open in the older program so you might want to backup your tree in the older format first. Then do it in…"
"Russ, I upgraded to FTM 2010 and when I downloaded my tree from ancestry.com where there are suppose to be pictures I only get magnifying glass. I have tried it several time. I have turned off my firewall and that didn't help. Do you have any…"
"Elizabeth, I don't know what they have around Lancaster PA, but we have a cemetery group here that goes to old cemeteries and clean and fixes MINOR issues with stones. Other than that you might try the historial society or genealogical society…"
"S Horgan, do you know if your Gr grandfather died before or after your Gr grandmother. Do you think he might be buried in Pythian Ridge also. My husband lived in Union County for 20+ years and we still sometimes go up there. If you thought that he…"
What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
US, England, Ireland and possibly Scotland
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Intermediate Family History Researcher
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
Curious due to not knowing my fathers family. Also my grandmother on my mothers side told me one day I needed to write all the stories down that she had been telling all these years. I am a volunteer for Find A Grave and also for Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness.
The picture is one of mine and my husband's entire family. This was the first time they were all together at one time since we were married. The picture was taken at our family cememtery in LBL part of Trigg County, KY.
Hey Joyce, you guys have had it really hot over there I hear. My Slayden't were in Fulton for a time, then Graves, and then McCracken Co. The majority of Slaytons were in Hopkins, so they may have filtered into Caldwell. There are many different lines and progenitors of these Slaton, etc groups. My partner is the premier Slaton, Slayton, Slayden researcher and we have a website, private, and a big DNA project with many lines and haplogroups. I am in the I1B, group whatever that is.
My guy is a Slayton and his haplogroup is totally different, whew. Even tho this is Kentucky.
Best regards, and I love your photos.
there are some Joyce family members buried in the Shady Grove cemetery in Shady Grove Kentucky. Also Brenda Joyce Jerome has writtena several books on Crittenden County Ky and I have about 10 of her books and will be glad to look up the names for you of any Joyce family
Hi Joyce: I have found several interesting records including a Marriage License and Return for Kenneth Smith and Hildur E. Bloomdahl in 1931 in Seattle, WA.
I have the 1920 and 1930 census for Gus Bloomdahl which you may already have and some other records. Where can I send them via e-mail? Jim
Joyce, I can take pictures in Stanwood, WA and Camano Island plus Skagit Co., WA but have no boos listing any cemeteries. Several area cemeteries are on line in various lists where you can search for Gus. Once we know where his grave is, it can be photographed.
