Primary MS counties: Tishomingo, Alcorn, Tippah, Lee, Ittawamba, Prentiss, Union, and one more I can't think of off the top of my head, but it is in the general vicinity.

Comment by BeNotForgot on July 10, 2009 at 12:41pm: My orphaned 2nd great-grandma -- 16-year-old Mary Annie "Mollie" West -- left Oktibbeha County ca. 1869 and settled in Burleson County (later Lee County), Texas. Mollie's parents are Richard West (son of Richard, Sr.) and Sarah Mildred Carter (daughter of John Carter and Theodocia ? Dunaway).

Comment by Tina Sansone on July 9, 2009 at 3:31pm: Hi. I was born in Prentiss Co., MS. where my dad family is from. My mom's family from Alcorn County. I have family ties to Prentiss, Alcorn, Tippah, Tishomingo, Lee among others.

I am also doing for others so somehow most all the counties I have ventured upon. I too have alot of books on these counties, mainly Alcorn, Prentiss, And Tishomingo or know family who has it if I don't.

I do some AFrican American famililes in Grenada, Yalobusha, Marshall, Tate and their surrounding counties.
