I'm looking for a record of the marriage of William Vaughn and a Mary J in or around 1875. From reading over your shoulder on the Mississippi group, I believe I have your John W. Partridge, b. abt 1856 in Mississippi as the son of a William D. and Sarah Partridge. :-) I can get you back to 1700 on your line... and would love to find out about John's descendants. Not certain about his wife as I didn't have even a name until I read your post, but I know of several Native American genealogist specialists that may be able to assist us in either proving or debunking the family story. Right now you get to be part of the Wannabe Tribe.... :-)

Mucklehone can be part of a related spelling group of Irish names, such as McIlhone, or MacIlhaney, McIlhoney, etc... from Ireland, at least thats what I have seen while compiling the Irish Families Project. -Mike
