What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
France -- I strongly suspect that my 3rd g-grandpa is Alexander Lemaire, French consul to Texas.
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Intermediate Family History Researcher
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
Don't remember the "beginning" -- it's ALWAYS been a part of my life. I remember asking my Mom questions about the lady in the picture frame that sat on her hope chest. They were usually questions Mom had no answer for because the face in the frame was her Mother who died when Mom was 3 days old. I was blessed to grow up next door to my paternal grandparents. After Pa Jake died, we often took Grandma to visit "her" widowed mother (my great-grandma) on Sunday afternoons. I do not necessarily remember stories that were told, but I DO remember always asking questions -- and YES, I DO still do that (much to the annoyance of some family members)!
