I want to delete my current tree from Ancestry.co.uk and upload a new one from FTM 2010. I'm unable to delete the existing tree because the website shows my password as incorrect. My understanding is that I need to enter my Ancestry.co.uk password, which I am doing. I just logged in and out of my Ancestry account and the password is working fine there but still the delete tree function will not accept it. Is there some other password required that I have overlooked?

Did you Register Version 2010?

Do you see your Online Tree listed in the Web Dashboard in the Plan Workspace on the right?

Then, guessing that you registered and are online with the SAME UserID and Password, you should be able to Delete your Member Family Tree AFTER you have downloaded in into 2010, from online.

I downloaded the tree to FTM 2010, then tried deleting the tree on Ancestry. Unfortunately, I still get the "incorrect password" error message. I am entering the same password as I am logged into Ancestry with.

My suggestion is that you contact Ancestry.co.uk. I don't know how they operate. But if you are seeing your tree in the Web Dashboard and you open a Browser window, you should be able to do anything to your Member Family Tree.

Are you able to Edit / Update your Member Family Tree?

Thank you, Russ. I will contact them in the morning. I am able to edit the tree.

I did find this in the Help section: "Your My Account password is not necessarily the same password you used for a tree or on the message boards." I don't see how that can be the case. I uploaded the tree from FTM 2010 about 9 months ago and was not asked for a separate password when uploading it.
Russ, I just tried accessing my tree through the Web Search page in FTM 2010 and was able to delete it that way. Thank you!

Sorry, don't understand why, if you can Edit your Online Tree, that you can't delete it.

I think that a call might be worthwhile.

I think it's a bug cause I have the same issue and I can log into my account with no problem.

I tried to delete one of my experimental trees off the Ancestry.com website and got the same result even know I can log on to my account and edit my trees with no problem
