Palmer, Ward, Atherton,
What countries and other locations are you interested in researching?
United States, England
What is your level of genealogy knowledge?
Intermediate Family History Researcher
For what reason did you start genealogy research?
It runs in the family. Both sides of the family have been into genealogy. The Atherton's had an Association, the Sabins have an association, the Palmers have a genealogy done by Walter S. Palmer in 1898, and the Robinsons have lots of genealogy done.

The image below was the first photograph of a service member we found in our box of photos that had been saved from the 1800s.

This is Marvin Carver, he was the first service member that I researched extensively.  My mother was interested to know if he was related to my 2nd great-grandmother on my dad's side of the family.  They named one of my sisters after her.

Cadet Carver was a Navel Cadet at Annapolis in the late 1800s.  I traced him to Wisconsin and Minnesota.  He then moved on to California.

I have since researched several men in uniform.  My latest soldier was mentioned in a letter from my 2nd great-grand uncle to his parents.  That was one more soldier I had never found in my family tree.

I hadn't done any extensive work on the Ward family, but that may be my next project.
