Comment by serena clarkson on October 14, 2012 at 1:31pm I want to know anything and everything that I can about my family. I have no family here that knows about them. I am trying to find family that may or may not know about my CMT disease and see if any other family has the same thing.

Comment by Kristen Holquist Waite on July 21, 2012 at 7:06am Thank you, Stephen! I would like to follow Johanna Johansdotter, if possible. I continue to be amazed and grateful of the willingness to help that I am finding from you and Annalie.
Comment by Annelie Jonsson on July 21, 2012 at 4:52am Rote is a military term. Sweden had a special militarysystem there some farms a village had to provide for a soldier, some land a cottage. More you can read about at http://www.algonet.se/~hogman/swegen.htm - Swedish Military History.

Comment by Steven D Koehler on July 20, 2012 at 9:53am Hi Kristen! Glad to see you are still researching your Swedish roots. I don't know what Annelie has already sent you, but I found your family in two of the household examination rolls for Lekåsa, as well as the moving out list for Lekåsa. The couple was married in 1881. Two sons who died in Sweden are listed, as well as a surviving son Karl Albin, born 30 July 1885. Let me know if you're interested in more detailed information. It should be possible to follow Johanna Johansdotter back in time in Åsaka ( = Barne-Åsaka).
