England Jurisdiction 1851 - Contiguous Parishes Online
Brilliant finding aid which not only allows you to view contiguous parishes it also shows county boundaries, civil reigstration districts, poor law union, hundreds, for any parish in England in 1851. Experience has taught me always look in surrounding parishes to where I believe my ancestors lived as they moved more than we give them credit for.

Was your ancestor a Publican?
This site is invaluable for finding out whether they ran a Pub.

Can we exchange links? I am admin for a Genealogywise group called "The English Fens", part of which are in Norfolk. The Fenland area of eastern England is a rather odd region, covering damp, flat bits of several counties!

Another link to add to the list above - http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tinstaafl/ - I do not know if all the parishes are in Norfolk - but at least some are.

Hi Everyone
I am John Laws, a member of the Guild of One Name Studies, researching LAW, LAWE, LAWES, LAWS, LAWSE World-Wide though my own LAWS family came from the Stepney/Bethnal Green/Mile End area and were mostley Mariners, and my earliest is Henry son of John & Mary Laws from Walworth, fairly newly built when he was born in 1800.
I have collected a huge database The LAWS FAMILY REGISTER with a great many from Norfolk we have our own group on this site, our own website www.lawsfamilyregister.org.uk and also I moderate the LAW@Rootsweb & LAWS-UK@Rootsweb groups, Hope we can give mutual help

Just ordered a copy of 'Tracing Your East Anglian Ancestors: A Guide for Family Historians' by Gill Blanchard. I will have to wait until I receive it before I can give a review but thought other members might be interested to know that there are a number of sellers on Amazon offering it at less than published price.

Hello, I'm interested in the BLOY, SHALDERS and TAYLOR families from Norwich, particularly the connections of Edward Shalders and Mary Ann Womack who married in St John de Sepulchre, Norwich in 1821 and their daughter Laura Bloy Shalders who married William Henry Taylor in 1860. This last couple moved to Manchester and then Newcastle on Tyne. I have very little information about the Taylors in Norfolk.
