Sean K replied to Stephen Garnett Cox's discussion Recommendations for publishing GEDCOM to web
"I used Ged2Web, which is free but gives reasonably comprehensive and presentable results. http://www.wtoram.co.uk/ged2web/ged2web.htm "

Sean K replied to Bob Carson's discussion Eliza Griffiths
"Well, it looks like the first three letters are Wid. The second upstroke of the W turns down with a kink to join the top of the i. So if it looks unlike the Mar's elsewhere, high chance she was a Widow. So presumably the father of Gomer dies…"

Sean K replied to Bob Carson's discussion Eliza Griffiths
"Sorry, I think I edited my comment while you were replying. I wasn't expecting such a rapid response!!! The 1851 Census should say whether or not someone was widowed. It gave considerable more info than previous censuses. If you haven't…"

Sean K replied to Bob Carson's discussion Eliza Griffiths
"Was Eliza widowed in 1851? Where were the eldest children born? Where was Gomer born? These all may give clues to where to look next. Where have you already looked for the details of your ggg-grandfather?"

Sean K replied to Lori Ellen Ford-Howard's discussion Glavin
"Do you have any dates or locations? They will probably help you get a better response. FamilySearch have many of the Irish Birth/Marriage/Death Resgistration indexes transcribed online. Maybe you could order your grandmothers birth certificate,…"

Sean K replied to Michel Rivard's discussion England and Wales marriage certificates
"No. But if the couple were married in a church sometime during the last 200 years the parish register will probably contain much the same information as a certificate. Parish registers were often pre-printed in a certificate style format and filled…"

Sean K replied to Christine Gibbins's discussion A personal account of an "ag lab" in 1840 re the Corn Laws in the group Agriculture
"I read an interesting bit of information recently about the England Census. The 1841 Census took place on June 7th, but they feared they had missed a lot of Ag Labs who, by that time of year, would be sleeping rough in the countryside. Apparently…"

Sean K replied to Sean K's discussion Interesting Fenland Facts in the group The English Fens
"Received a great little book through the post today - "Bygones" - 40 pages of memories of Fenland molecatcher Arthur Randell-Fenman. He was born in 1900 and recorded his memories in 1975. If anyone comes across the book on eBay then you…"

Nice idea!

GenealogyWise seems like an interesting concept and it's nice to have found it before the promised BIG launch (though I'm not sure this ever happened)!

I am carrying out a Kisby/Kisbee One-name Study of all occurrences of the surname worldwide, therefore the fact GW is primarily a USA-centred project is not necessarily a bad thing. My own ancestors came from (and remained in) England. Well, that is with the exception of myself, now living in Wales.

Thanks for helping me solve my death certificate mystery. There were two different Susannah Dutchs. Thanks for locating the 1841 Whitechapel Susanna. The last name is difficult to make out in the actual record and Ancestry had a different transcription.
