Penelope Bell commented on Geniaus's group 'Australian Genealogists'
I've just read the 3 profiles on Genimates with great enjoyment. I particularly like the responses to the personal philosophy prompt: they reflect what great people we have in the genealogy community.

The 2011 census was due to be taken in March but is now cancelled. This has happened only twice before: during the Great Depression and in World War II. However, NZ, like Australia, has not kept data on individual households from its censuses in the…

Penelope Bell commented on Denise Hamilton Jhanson's group 'Coal mining family's from Durham England'
Hello, My interest is in my Armstrong family who were part of the mining community in Wingate/Wingate Grange. There were lots of Armstrongs in the area, often with similar forenames, so sorting out "my" family can be difficult.

Thanks for the DNA info. I will certainly look into it. Compared with all the other money I have poured into family history the costs seem reasonable. Cheers, Jill
