Question abt file types:  I just noticed in the Data folder some file types that I don't

remember seeing before. After the main file name  ~PPL.PPL  and  ~RGD.RGD.

One of the trees has both and two other trees have one, one of each.

Are these some new thing and what are they?

  Thanks.

I have just put my tree on line through the legacy internet button.

Two problems: How do I delete living descendants? And secondly. How can the site be viewed on other computers?

And thirdly, if it can't be viewed how do I delete the page?

Thank you, it was as easy as that.

Legacy Charting creates and opens lwc files.

If you use the Publish tab in Legacy Charting you can save your file as a PDF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, or TIFF.

What program is used to open a  " .lwc " file?

I have a question about saving a chart. I have a Father's chart that I want to save  in my documents but it saves it as a *.lwc file which cannot be re-opened. Is there a way of saving it as a jpeg or another file that can be opened other than printing it out and then scanning it back in.

Downloaded the setup from the web site and ran it. Copied the two main DATA

files from the desktop and inserted them in the DATA folder. Works fine now.

Thanks.

Yes, I certainly wouldn't use a file from my PC or laptop.

Comment by Lewis Hartswick on September 16, 2012 at 8:05am

Thanks Ron, I thought that may be the solution. The setup was the one that was

downloaded when the laptop was re-loaded about a year ago. But nothing had been

done in the way of new or changed pgms for a very long time. This error just started

out of the clear blue. So I'll do the "un-install" and bring a copy of the appropiate

DATA files from my desktop over and insert it in the Legacy folder..  Hope it

works. :-) Guess I have to get the "install" setup from the net.

Lewis, Which Legacy set up did you use i.e. where on your laptop did you find it, or do you mean that you re-downloaded it? I suspect from your comment that you know that the common reason for this problem is an incomplete installation, it may be that if the setup.exe was on your laptop (or the wrong one). In which case you may be better off by uninstalling and reinstalling.
