Hello, group! I’m looking for the Botkin family. William Wesley Botkin, wife Susannah, and my great grandfather Luther Leon Botkin. They lived in Litchfield, Illinois, or Macoupin County. I really would like more information on the family, especially a photo of the family. Thank you!

I don't think this forum has been active for a while.  People seem to mostly discuss genealogy/family history on Facebook these days.  But in case there are others around, what areas/families in IL are you working on?

is this group still active?

I'm looking for information on the Charles SUTTON and Margaret McCormick family (they are my brick wall).  This is what know:  Charles SUTTON died  between 1886-1887 in Henderson County, Illinois and Margaret McCORMICK died sometime after that.  They had the following children: Florence M. b. abt. 1875, Emma E. b. abt. 1876, Harry Clinton b. 30 January 1877(my great grandfather), Charles R. b. 25 April 1879, Minnie Bell b. 25 February 1882, Stella Maude b. 01 April 1884. In 1887 Margaret took the three(3) younger children to the Woodland Home for Orphans and Friendless in Quincy, Illinois and stated that she was a widow and that the three (3) older children had found homes.  And that she was in failing health. I learn about the Woodland Home on Friday but beyond that nothing.   I hope someone can help, it is driving me crazy.

I'm a newby.  Searching for parents of Julia Ann MARTIN who married Ira B. ROSE.

They were married in Martinsville, Clark County, Illinois. (20 Feb. 1837)

It is possible her father was Joseph MARTIN, but I have no proof.

Julia - born in Ohio 30 Aug,1820 and died - Clark Co., IL 10 Aug 1855

Ira - born 6 Oct 1805 in NY and died - Clark Co., IL 3 Dec 1880

Julia and Ira had 8 children - Elim, Martha, John Nelson, William Henry, Daniel, Didama, David, Emeline Philadelphia

I do not have any information on Julia's mother or her father other than his possible name, Joseph MARTIN

Nor do I have information on Ira B Rose's parents

Any leads would be helpful.  Thanks in advance!
