I am a descendant of Thomas through Samuel and his daughter Dorothy (Leavitt). Also I have a less well documented line through Anne that married Simon Bradstreet. Would love to share info with anybody doing these lines.

Greetings from Southport, North Carolina, USA.

I descend Gov. Thomas Dudley by his son, Exeter, New Hampshire, Rev. Samuel Dudley by his first wife Mary Winthrop (mother of Ann Dudley who wed Edw. Hilton, Sr., of Exeter), and third wife Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Gilman.

And via Dudley Hilton's wife Mercy Hall, daughter of Judge Kinsley Hall's wife Elizabeth Dudley, daughter of Rev. Samuel Dudley's third wife, aforesaid Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Dudley. Mrs. Mercy Hall Hilton's daughter Elizabeth Hilton wed Christopher Robinson of Exeter, who's daughter Elizabeth Robinson wed Rochester, N.H., legislator and inn keeper, one-armed Maj. Barnabas Palmer, Sr., who's daughter Margaret Palmer wed Dover, N.H., legislator LtCol David Copp, Sr., who's son, Portsmouth, N.H., lawyer and gambler, David Copp, Jr., wed 15 years old, Mary "Polly" Watson, the daughter of Dover (here I'm not sure of the lineage) Pvt. George Watson, Sr., and Elizabeth Gerrish.

George might be the son of Samuel Watson and wife Lydia ____, the son of Isaac Watson and Elizabeth or Joanna?, the son of Jonathan Watson, Sr., and ?Abigail Dudley?, (or Elizabeth Beard?), If Mrs. Abigail Dudley Watson was Jonathan Watson, Sr's wife; she might be the daughter of aforesaid Rev. Samuel Dudley and wife (Elizabeth) ?

Who was 3rd wif,e Mrs. Elizabeth Smith Gilman/Dudley the daughter of? Jim Miller, Southport, N.C. What ever happened to the Gov. Dudley Family Assn. of circa 1900?

David Copp, Jr., a graduateof Philips Exeter Academy, was murdered 1803 in a New Orleans, Louisiana, gambling house. His daughter born N.H., Adeline Cecelia Copp, 1815, wed New Orleans lawyer, Battle of New Orleans, Adj. Lt. John Nixon, deJean's 1st La. Militia, who owned the Nixon House Hotel, Biloxi, where he is entombed.

In N.O. daughter Jane Ann Nixon wed LtCol Robert Wm. James (born Wilmington N.C. 1811), and was the mother of Biloxi ships pilot and harbormaster, Capt. Harry Copp James, who's wife, Leila Ogden Malone, had Mrs. Ruth Irma James Wootten, my late grandmother.
