Sharon, don't quote me on this yet, but I do believe there was at least one other unrelated batchelder immigrant from the same time period and possibly 2. When I run into that info again, I'll pass it on. If you give me the information you do have I can see if I can help you, I have a LOT of information on this family.

I descend from Sgt. John Batchelder (~1607-1676) and Rebecca (~1611-1662) from Reading, MA.
For a while I thought I, too, descended from Stephen Batchelder, but the information I received was that my ancestor was a daughter who died in childhood! I have left many, many Batchelders & Wings in my database in hopes that someday, I will hook up with them again!

Oh by the way...I have Sanborn, too, but I don't think they are part of this line (though you never know!). The Batchelder line is my father's side and my Sanborn is my mother's side. Again they do connect at several points so this may be another one that hasn't been found yet. My Sanborn is from Hampton, NH.

One thing I've learned is that you have to include people you think may not be related because at some point you'll find out they are!

So we're connected several times! I'm really not surprised as this has happened to me in my research where I've found multiple connections between my parents. I've come to the conclusion that if families were in the same area for any given amount of time, then they'll marry their kids off to each other for several generations until you find everyone that lived in the area is related. ;-)

I haven't heard any of the stories. They sound like an interesting bunch!

I have Hannah Swift's parents as William Swyft and Joan Sisson, but no other info or children on them.

From George Allen (no wife info); son Daniel Allen m. Bathsheba Hoxie (her parents: Lodowick Hoxie and Mary Presbury); 2 children: Hannah Allen (no husband info) and Gideon Allen m. Anne Buck (her parents: Joseph Buck and Remember Jennings). Gideon and Anne had 8 girls and 1 boy that I know of.

Andrea we are connected at least twice then. Your Hannah Swift was the sister of Esther Swift who married my Ralph Allen, and the Swifts, Allens and Wings all did live in Sandwich and wreaked some havok as Quakers. It's a very interesting story, and if you don't have the details I'll be happy to share. Gideon Allen is a grandson of George Allen,a nd I know a lot about this family. My problem is that I had researched thema ll under the belief that MY Ralph Allen was the some of George Allen, but it turns out he was not. Right now I;m suspecting he might have been a nephew, but so far I have no proof of any connection. His involvement with the rest of the Allens and their activities convinces me that in some way he is a part of that family. Isn't genealogy fun? :)

In any case, we are cousins, since we share the Batchelder line :)

Katrina, they are connected to the Allen family, though I'm only assuming it's the same Allen family in Sandwich. My Wings were all over the place including Sandwich. They eventually ended up in Rochester, MA to Vassalboro, ME.

My line:

Deborah Batchelder m. John Wing
Daniel Wing m. Hannah Swift
John Wing m. Martha Spooner
Joseph Wing m. Dorothy Butler
William Wing m. Mary Allen (parents: Gideon Allen & Anne Buck)
William Wing, Jr. m. Desire Edwards
William Wing III m. Eunice
Desire Wing m. Robert Austin

etc., etc., etc. It pretty much continues on an Austin line to a Richardson line, then Bowman to my Norton line.
