Three days ago I installed Ancestry.com Family Tree Maker 2010. I have been unable to transfer my pictures, census, military draft cards, birth and death records I had in my family trees on Ancestry. I tried to print the family tree chart off and few pages for a family member so they would have the information as they were going to a court house and was going to look up some things for me. I have been unable to print this off. Any one else having this problem. I am currently using Microsoft Vista. I have Windows 7 ordered and should be getting it soon. I feel I have wasted my money on this program from Ancestry. It is not living up to what I was told it would do.

I installed the Ancestry Family Tree Maker 2010 three days ago. Yesterday and today it keeps telling me that the files did not transfer or Ancestry Family Tree Maker is not working. I am getting very upset. I feel I have wasted my money. I was wanting to print some things off for a family member and my chart to include with the papers but it won't let me. At the present time I do not have the extra money for Ancestry to print a book. I only want a few pages. Also when I first installed the family tree program it would not transfer the pictures I had in Ancestry or the historical reports: census, military draft cards, birth and death certificates. Can anyone help me. Originally I thought this would make a GREAT Christmas present for my siblings but it looks like I will have to get something else for them. Its probably too late to ask for a refund for the program.

I installed 2010 FTM, and had 2009 FTM on my computer. I am unable to uninstall 2009 FTM and just keep 2010. Anyone have an ideas why?

Judy -- might I suggest that you start a Discussion on the Family Tree Maker Fan Group? It will be easier to help you there. I'll keep an eye open for you.

Version 16 and Version 2006 are very, very close versions. Both can read each other's file directly --- Russ

But, start a new discussion on your issue. Thank you

Thanks for all the help. I have 2 PC's and 2 laptops as I winter in TX and spend the rest of the year in RI.
One laptop will be passed on as it is an older one. My TX PC has version 16 but this PC only has 2006. Version 16 was a free download at the time I was in TX. The new laptop is "my go-between" as I stop in Salt Lake City on the way to TX. I'm thinking I will probably keep the 2006 version on the laptop. Anybody have any suggestions? I'm very confused. LOL.

Betty Jo -- Yes, you can Uninstall previous versions of Famliy Tree Maker. If you have a Family Tree Maker User Home Page (Not a Member Family Tree), you might want to keep the earlier version.
