Adopted Children and or illigitimate children

Rather than say illegitimate child, I prefer to call myself a "love child". My Step father never formally adopted me, but for the sake of my family tree, I want to say I was adopted. I have never been able to figure how to put myself as adopted in any version of FTM, including version 2010.Any ideas or tips would be appreciated, as I want my family info accurate.Thank You!See More

Rhonda, -- Using Vista, you MUST do something to Run As Administrator. you can't assume that you are. Right Click on the Family Tree Maker ICON, and you will see the Run As Administrator option.

Thank you,

Russ

Rhoda - What version of Windows are you using? If you are using Vista, please run As Administrator.

Also, there is a Family Tree Maker Group, here on GenealogyWise. It's best to start a new Discussion on that page.

Thank you.

They have Rhoda, as of yesterday. I put a note on it under "interests" on my page. Glad they acted on it. We sure don't need that on this site or any other site for that matter. Thanks for writing.

Here's what I find out and there's plenty more on the Internet about this scam.

Well, I put up with a lot of it on my voice mail and I sure don't want it here. I clicked on "report an issue" which you find at the bottom of your page and it comes up with a complaint form where you can check what kind of a complaint you have. I hope it's acted upon. I can't find anyone who has not been stuck with that link. I'm going to investigate it further and I'll let everyone know what I find out, if anything.

Thanks for the reply. Now back to genealogy!

Hi Rhoda,

I have been writing to all my friends here on GenWise about this makemoneywith--google that has appeared on everyone's page. I am trying to find out who to complain to at GenWise about this solicitation. It sounds like a scam to me but regardless this sort of activity does not belong on GenWise. I did post to these people or whomever it is I do not want such nonsense on my page. Everyone I have met on GenWise so far has been very nice and sincerely interested in genealogy. We don't need this. What are your thoughts on the subject?

Thanks, Steph
