Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research in Houston Texas

Yesterday I was visiting with Susan Kaufman, the Manager at the Clayton Library Center for Genealogical Research in Houston. This two story building located in the Museum District close to downtown Houston houses the extensive U.S., states,… Continue

A Misunderstood & Underutilized Resource

Lots of folks tend to be misinformed about LDS genealogy resources. Many changes have been going on in the past few years, which have included major revamping of the LDS genealogy website www.FamilySearch.org. I have to admit that I don’t find the History Channel very interesting.

My husband watches it constantly and aside from something that occasionally catches my eye, I find most discussions of political, military and social history rather boring. I am horrible at remembering dates and while I can recount the presidents since I was born, prior to that, I don’t know my Adamses from my Tafts or even remotely where they fall in the historical timeline. It just doesn’t really interest me or capture my attention.

Now YOUR history, or your story, that’s a… Continue

Rocky and Bullwinkle to the Rescue

Sigh. Lazing the day away watching Saturday morning cartoons is one of my favorite childhood memories... the most anticipated being the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show. There wasn't a segment of that show I didn't like, but my favorites were the… Continue
