Hi Monica, I am a distant cousin thru James and Penelope Barber of Chatham Co NC and Clarke Co GA. Tried your e-mail address but got blocked by spamcop. I was not trying to send spam. Trying to invite you to my Ancestry page.

Noticed you have a Canada interest. I am also looking in Canada for some Merritt relatives. If you have any tricks ......

Have not got beyond the following in looking at the Merritt family

John Merritt

About 1829 in Chatham, Ontario, Upper Canada
14 Aug 1886 in Drouin West, Victoria, Australia
Stephen Merritt b. About 1800 Carpenter
Ruth Emily Baker b. About 1800
Immigration: About 1853 Australia
Occupation: Farmer
Married: Catherine McDonald (Wife) b. About Oct 1838 in Laois, Ireland

I think it may be long shot but its worth asking if you recognise any of these people in your records.

My mom is a Willbanks descendent. I am Cloud as that is my father's name :-)

That would be great! I'll do some checking on MyHeritage tonight and see if I can tell where they originated from.

Monica. I am interested in the Brickley name. My gr grandmother was a Brickley. The family seemed to have been located mostly in Iowa, however they did migrate there. Do you have Brickley's in your ancestors?

Good luck to you as well, and if you ever need a suggestion, etc., feel free to get back to me. My father's side of the family are all through Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, areas

Can you tell me what sources you have looked at thus far? For example, did you know there is a Haley group in Rootsweb, and maybe a bulletin board as well. I never got much out of them but most of the discussion seemed to deal with Haley's in the South. You might try them, its all free.
