For what reason did you start genealogy research?
I began researching in earnest in January 2008 after retiring as a public school librarian. After 1 1/2 years, I am still hooked. I became the recipient of many boxes of photographs and documents (certificates, licenses, letters, diaries, budge/bank books, travel papers) for several branches of our extended family. I want to find out more about each person in our family history with the help of Internet free and subscription web sites, as well as trips to the counties in Texas, Alabama, Florida, Virginia, New York, and California. I'll never get to do everything, but I can try.
Go to www.hollingsworthrobbinsfamilytree.blogspot.com to see photographs and stories of the Hollingsworth, Robbins, Gray, Littlejohn, and more surname stories from our families' histories.
Hi - was reading your profile and saw Wheeler in NY. Do you have any Wheelers who married an Avery in the Elmira - Big Flats - Corning areas? My dad's first cousin Alvaretta Avery married William Wheeler. They had two sons Earl and William and several daughters. Alvaretta and William and Earl and his wife are buried in Big Flats NY. The son William is buried in Elmira NY. Thanks for your time.
Linda Sue, Sorry it took so long to respond. I will accept your invitation to join the Hossinworth Surname Group.
I have spent some lengthy time searching/researching my Hollingsworth families since I last spoke to you. And I have gained some additional information. It becomes confusing due to the generational use of given names, but exciting never the less.
Heading for Oklahoma Monday for the birth of our fifteenth grandchild, my fifth biological grandchild on Tuesday. She will be a Littlejohn/Woods baby with Hollingsworth/Gray great-grandparents in her pedigree.
