HI Linda, unfortunately my husband's BATTYs are from the south of England, as far as I've been able to trace. My MOORHOUSEs are from Yorkshire, most definitely!

The family appear to have been in Quarley near Andover. Walter MATON b about 1838 was the father of Albert William MATON b about 1861 baptizes in West Cholderton Wiltshire (where his mother was born). Albert married my relative Alice Maud SAVO(U)RY.
