"My 2nd great grandmother Catherine Burke, daughter of Edward Burke was born on 30 Nov 1845 in Dublin, Ireland and died 18 Jul 1918 in Chakrata, Uttaranchal, India, a British military base. Edward was born about 1820 in Donegal, Ireland.

"I too have had a sync failure after yesterday's patch. But a later attempt succeeded.
Another problem I've been having for some time and not corrected with this latest patch is duplications of citations for marriages - sometimes…"
I hope that when the new patch comes out these things wont be necessary. Meantime, as I said above I'll stop using FTM meantime.
I would dearly like to use FTM for most of my work but the sync failures have prevented that because the…"
I hadn't seen that message board and it is obvious from that that I'm far from being alone. I wish I'd seen it before - I would have felt less like the problems were my fault and have spent far less time attempting to…"
I agree with your earlier comments and hope you find a way to get the message through to Ancestry.
But, I am most interested right now in your comments on problems with sync. I have had ongoing problems in this area that were not corrected…"
First, you can't compare FTM2012 to your AMT for Media Files vs Gallery Images. Reason: FTM2012 will NOT upload any Ancestry.com media files, like Images.
FTM2012 to Legacy. That sounds interesting. Does Legacy have Citation files like…"

The GEDCOM 5.5.1 file DOES have links to the media files on my hard drive.
FTM2012 found all except 25 of the files and I haven't told it…"
If Legacy generates a GEDCOM 5.5.1 file, then it might have Links to the media files on your hard drive. YOU would have to "tell" FTM2012 to Find Missing Media, however. Can you SEE those Media files that were in Legacy?
The GEDCOM file contains references to files such as:
2 FILE c:\Legacy\Pictures\\Barbara.jpg
I guess that FTM uses those to find media files and subsequently uploads them to Ancestry. I'm guessing also that it couldn't find two…"
The process was:
1. Prepare test GEDCOM from Legacy
2. Import test GEDCOM to FTM - no compact
3. Upload uncompacted data to Ancestry encountering `Media: 2 not complete - process error' error at the end of the…"
"Hi again Russ,
My previous message was sent before all media files were updated. This has now been done except for 2 media files that failed because of a `process error' - whatever that means. Possibly it could not find two files because…"
