Does anyone have any information on William Read [~1758 - 1840] of Hampstead?His Gravestone at Hampstead St John gives him as aged 82 in 1840, implying birth in 1758 (although his Death Certificate has him dying aged 81). But the earliest definate record I have of him is the Land Tax Assessment of Pond Street, Hampstead, dated 29 June 1783. My association with the Staniers is my grandmother (Marie Elcock) had a sister Lucy Elcock DOB 08/09/1882 Chelmarsh Shropshire England .
Lucy married Reuben George Stanier DOB last quarter 1888 Cleobury Mortimer England U.K. They married in Lichfield 2d Quarter 1909. They had 2 children Margaret and Peter (think they were twins).
They last lived at Castle Street in Bridgenorth
I don't know when Reuben died but Lucy died 31/10/1956 Bridgenorth.
