Hi, my name is Kathryn and I am researching my ancestors from Wilton, Wiltshire---Mary Elizabeth Thring (1735-1797) and her husband Sander Sidford ( 1736-1781). I am wondering where the name Sander came from as well--it seems uncommon. One of their grandchildren ended up coming to Canada where I live. Any information would be appreciated.

Hi, This is Marc in Ontario, Canada. My ancestors are found in the Hilperton and Trowbridge areas in the late-18th/early 19th century. Surnames of interest: Swain, Gregory, Carpenter, Lucas, Marshman, Sainsbury, Broom, and Wallop. Hope to make some connections here!

Hi, my Wiltshire ancestors came from Devizes. I'm particularly interested in the Cadby surname.

Hello all. I have discovered that my ancestors came from Wilton in Wiltshire. I have become really interested in finding out as much as I can about them. The family name is DOLING and the time frame is 1790-1897. It seems as if my relative, JOHN DOLING was a respected member of the community. He was a woolstapler and built the Wool Store in Market Place. Would be lovely to chat to anyone else who has family from Wilton. Other names linked are TABOR, THRING, FORD and ROWDEN.

I am researching SIM(M)S from the Ramsbury area around 1750-1800. My 3
x great grandmother was Mary SIMS, daughter of William SIMS and
Elizabeth CLARKE, baptised March 1779 at Mildenhall (Minal) Wiltshire.

I am also searching for A Nora Mary SIMS who was born in the Marlborough
area in the September quarter of 1901 and whose father was William John
SIMS (according to her marriage certificate) - possibly lived in Pewsey?

Any connection, links or ideas will be much appreciated.

Hello, all. I am descended from John Stokes, b. 1817, Wiltshire, England. He was married in 1836 to Phebe Gregory, daughter of John Gregory. They came to Providence, Rhode Island, USA, in 1848. I would appreciate any information on these persons that may be found in local records, and I can provide information on some descendants.

Does anyone have any information on John MONEY, Innkeeper of Little Bedwyn in the1820s / 1830s?

His daughter Charlotte married first a PLATT (forename not known) and then in 1846 John WILLOUGHBY.

Margaret
