My name is Charlene and I've been researching my family tree for about two years now. I'm trying to track back to my 4th paternal G.G. who was possibly born in Europe (England or Scotland) or may be an American Indian? I don't know is first name (unknown Walker) but his son's name is John Curtis Walker (1797-1869) born in Hopewell, Somerset County, MD. He married Lydia Whaley (born 1810) in either MD or VA. Their children are: Henry (John), Hester A., Zachariah, Nathan, Sarah Jane and Ferlilia, all born in Somerset County, MD., living in Brinkleys District, Somerset County, MD. I hope you can help. I am at a dead-end in my line. It's been passed down in my family that we are of American Indian descent. I'm not sure if I can't find this Walker because he may be an Indian?  I hope someone out there can shed some light on my family tree

forgot to mention that my great grandmother was born Oct 14 1878 in west virginia and died June 6, 1959 in Dunbar, Kanawha County, WV and was buried at Grandv iew cemetery in Dunbar WV

Im looking for information on my great grandmothers family....her name was Susan Estaline Walker married name Reed.  The only information I have on her parents are they were both born in WV their names were George W. Walker and Susan Flint have no idea when they were born or passed away.  I have no idea how many siblings my great grandmother had the only thing i know is in my great grandmothers obit dated 9 jun 1959 said her sister Alspie Jones of St. Albans, WV

My Walkers lived in McMinn County, Tennessee and before that Rutherford County, North Carolina.  Any one researching John Biggerstaff Walker Jr. & Sr.

Pj, you may have seen there's 3 trees on  ancestry.com, one may be yours? one says Martha died @ 1932, the other says 1920.... whew, all kinds of dates

Jeffrey Hinkle  have you found out anything since your post below looking for info on Newton Walker? Who did he marry?  what's your mom's name? they would be on the 1920 census 3 yrs after her birth.... and then 1930. He would be on earlier ones with wife, then earlier with parents, if  you don't already have that info, I'll be happy to send it or post it along with anything else I find.....  :)

Pj Sisseck  ODD I looked in online NM death index and Andrew is listed but not Martha, even looked under maiden name just in case.

My great uncle's name was James Cornelius Walker and his nickname was Red Walker. His sister, my grandmother's name was Elizabeth Walker Harrington.

Help!  I descend from a Martha Jane "Mattie" Walker, whose daddy's name was James (and there are records on about a thousand James Walkers in every county in the USA).  From censuses and other stuff, I have learned that Martha Jane Walker was born in 1851, 1853, and 1855...in IN, IL, and MO!  She died 14 July 1927, and is buried in Tucumcari Memorial Park, Quay Co NM. NM cannot locate her Death Certificate, and neither can I.  She was married 10 October 1873 in MO to Andrew Baker Simpson.

About the most solid clue I have is that she lived in Millsap, Parker Co TX, from roughly 1875 until about 1901, and that one of her nieces-by-marriage, Ollie Justus, married William DIllard Goen.  Like I said...HELP!
