Hello, I have a Greenbury Anderson Hicks b.Nov 2, 1829 Greene Co, TN, d.Apr 18, 1900 Scott Bar, CA.. He is my 2nd great grandmothers (Hannah Hicks) brother.
I have a Greenbury Andrew Hicks b. Jul 25, 1855 Schuyler Co, MO, d. Apr 15, 1909 Fresno, CA. He would be the nephew to Greenbury Anderson Hicks (or )--William Hicks is his father. So you can see where the Greenbury comes from. Thank you for your help in any way. Beth

My husband has Hicks' in his family line. His great grandfather was Joseph Greenberry Hicks who was b. 25 Dec 1855 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., Kentucky and d. 6 Mar 1930 in Marion Twp., Jasper Co., Missouri. He was m. to Alice Magdalene Crow. Does any of this match your Hicks line??

Yes, but not sure what line, I think Hicks, I can't prove it. Although all the women have the very strong indian high cheekbones and jet black hair.My great grand mother was so ashamed of being indian she never let it out until she was over 90 something. At that time she pulled out a childs indian costume and showed it to her niece, the costume is long gone but the stories remain. My mother has always claimed to be cherokee. If you like I can give you my direct lines to the Hicks. Thanks for your interest any help you may give will be an answer to many sleepless nights. Beth

My ancestors come from Bunker and Ironton Missouri. I was born in St. Louis. I am doing research on the Orr's. My Pet project is called the Missouri Orr's and includes everyone born, lived, died in Missouri. I firmly believe that all the Orr's in Missouri are related but have not proven it yet. If you have any Orr's in your line(s) i would like to get information about them and any photos of them you would care to share. My ancestors are from the St. Louis area. FASNET, WOODS, HAMILTON
Fasnet also spelled Fasnut lived in Ferguson
Woods, my Grandfater, supposedly came from Canada (family story) where his name was DUBOIS- which is translated into Woods. I find on three of his records where he claims to be from Maine--I can't prove either. He died in 1900
My Grandmother mairried B Frank Hamilton in 1906 and moved to Pontiac Illinois until 1920 when she moved back

I am researching Abraham MARCIA/MERCIER who was born, supposedly in Missouri, 12 October 1828. He appears on the 1850 Ralls County Census as a laborer in the household of Thomas H. and Nancy Graham. Later that year, he married Nancy Thomas HAWKINS, a daughter of John Franklin HAWKINS, a prominent Ralls County landowner. In 1856, he acquired 160 acres in Macon County. He later immigrated to Texas and died 23 April 1887 in Ennis, Ellis County, Texas. I have been unable to trace him back before 1850 and would appreciate any assistance. Thanks.

I am new to this site and am researching Schuyler County, Missouri. Some of my BRUNER, HICKS, LASLEY, NEAL families are buried in Fabius Cemetery, off of M-136 just 5 miles west of Downing, MO. I had taken photos of gravesites in this location last year during the Bruner family reunion and would share them with anyone wanting them.
Also included are Williams, Dunn, Monteith, Fincher, Ballanger, but they are generally extended to married into the family status.
I plan to make a formal platting of the cemetery on my next visit.
Anyone researching the: BRUNER, HICKS, LASLEY, NEAL families?

My g.g.g.grandfather, Jacob Crow, came to Dent County, MIssouri sometime around 1831 from Illinois. I'm descended through his son, Stith O Crow. Missouri names are Crow, Sanders, Coppedge, and Murray.
