Jim,

All I know right now is that my set of Avery's are from Easley, SC. I am going to send one of my Avery cousins to you. Maybe she can be of help on our side.

Looking for Desire Avery (5 March 1788 born in Leyden, MA) married to Ephriam Gates brother of my direct ancestor Lephe Gates. Another Avery I have is Irena Avery born 1818 (place unknown) died in Palymra, Jefferson County, Wisconsin 1903 in Hillside Cemetery, Palymrya, Jefferson County, WI.

I do not know if or how these two Avery ladies are related.
My two branches are related by the Gates branch married into the Riddell family (1700s) and the other branch is the Coon family who married into the Riddell (1800s) family.

Any help with these two Avery ladies would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jim,
Got your note, and here I am. However, my connection to the Avery name occurs way back with the marriage of Mary Avery to David Parkin at Arlington, Devon, England in 1692. From there I'm back to Christopher Avery and Johanna Rice, married 1599. Then the trail goes cold.
