Jim, I just looked at our Avery/Schuck book. Looks like we go back to a Mark Avery born 25 Nov 1820, but we don't know where. He married Helen Colborn in Wisconsin. If anyone goes back to this line, they can let me know.

Jim, I am really new to these discussion groups, etc. I looked at the Avery surname group and got a message that it doesn't exist, so how do I get into the Avery discussion group? We have a cousin who has done extensive work on our Avery line…

I have set up an Avery discussion group. There are 26 Avery researchers on here. I thought by putting our heads together we might find some common relatives and breakdown our brick walls. Please feel free to drop in and post your Avery lines.

In the Master Location List, click on Options > Expand/Contract. Click on "Add USA" or "Add United States" and click Continue. Legacy will then append this country to the end of all USA locations.

Adding USA to locations

Is there an easy way to add USA to all localities in my files that are in the USA? Or - do I have to change them individually in the Master Locality List?

Hi Lynda - we exchanged comments on here a while back. You were looking for a Mark Avery who married a Helen. In Jefferson Co WI 1850 census there is a Mary Avery b. 1821 who was living with a Helen and Sophia Avery. Mary's occupation was a cooper. Could this be Mark and the enumerator goofed? If so this person was born in NY. Could you check your Avery book and see if there is a Hezekiah Avery mentioned? I believe the Hezekiah who found in the Civil War from WI could have roots in the same area as mine and be a son of Abijah Avery. Could you also please check your book for for Abijah or Hezekiah?  I appreciate your help on this.
