I like the layout of Legacy and it has a nice look about it. I liked The Master Genealogist but I found it a little convulted although it probably is the best program of the lot for features.
I can't really say now why i didn't like FTM now as it was quite a few years ago. I understand the new program is a lot better. There is a website called Genealogy Software Reviews which has a lot of reviews on it about all the Genealogy programs. It is worth having a look at.

It is a pity because they might have had something really important for me. I think I was pleasant also or at least I think I was.

John, not everyone will reply to you an ancestry, unfortunately. I have had the same problem with trying to reach out to people who have people listed in their tree (which would be relatives to my tree) with no documentation to prove it. Many did not reply. I was pleasant in my query, so really I do not understand the reason for no replies.

Thanks Debbie. I have been researching Family History for quite a few years now. It is just I am new to Ancestry. One thing you migt be able to help me with is contacting people that have put a family tree on Ancestry. I have tried to contact three people by leaving a message but have had no result. I guess it depends how often they go to the site.
I actually began with Family Tree Maker a few years ago and you will be sorry to hear I did not like it. I then used The Master Genealogist for about 5 years but have recently switched to Legacy.

I have only just joined Ancestry. I really don't know a lot about it and I hope to learn from this site.

I have been a member of Ancestry.com for about 7 years and will be glad to help with the US databases. Their constant changes remind me of the grocery store--just when you think you know where something is it's moved 6 aisles away. At the grocery it's called "marketing" but what's it called in genealogy?

I've been a member of ancestry for years and use it for the primary records (census, marriage, WWI records, etc). I have a tree which I started for my direct ancestors, but it has grown by leaps and bounds. I really enjoy my tree online. It is fun to see records added as well as pictures and then the links and stories I have added just enhance each ancestors's page.
