Thank you I was worried about the photos as I am too lazy to upload them over again. I am confused but feel I will figure it out when the time comes, as long as I know they are there somewhere, so far i don't like so much on one page i like the old way with just the famly group on the page, it just seems like the screen is realy busy in the samples I looked at. Maybe i will get used to it.
thanks again,
Jo
Jo,

Yes, there is more information on the screen, BUT you DO have some control over what is displayed. You can Close and Open some of the Panels. You can adjust some of the other panels.

Lets say that you are working on someone's Notes. (Like the notes in Version 16 and earlier). You can Drag or Expand the information that is in the Notes part of the Screen. (People Workspace, Person Tab.

If you like the Pedigree View and the Family View in Version 16 and earlier, they are now both on the Same Screen. Lets say that you are most comfortable with the Family View. You can drag the bar between the two "views" to reduce the Pedigree View or you can actually close the Family View, if you like to work on the Pedigree View.

You have far more options in the current version then what you are used to. The Navigation, for me, is much better.

I have some screen shots and How-To information on my Blog. Will update it when Version 2011 is available.

Russ,

I am curious if you have seen the new version? I wonder if the enhancements/changes are worth upgrading from 2010. Other than an I Phone app (which I don't have) there is nothing similar to the Roots Magic To Go is there?

Thanks your thoughts.
Jean,

I have seen what I posted as far as features are concerned.

The iPhone app is not a Family Tree Maker app, but an Ancestry.com app.

The above list does not appear to have a Roots Magic To Go feature, but I have a different solution that has worked for me.

Russ
Just order the Family Tree Maker - Version 2011. I have updated my Family Tree Maker ever since the Version Three. It is the only one of my computer programs I keep updated.
Mary,

Great. Please let us know what you think of it after you have had a chance to use it.

Good luck,

Russ
I am very upset with Ancestry. Com. I have been a member for several years, and I have purchased many versions of FTM.
It is only this morning that I have heard about FTM 2011. I have not been invited to pre order new version.
Rhoda,

I think you can still take advantage of the Pre-Order prices. There are a number of posts on the Ancestry.com, Family Tree Maker Message board about this.

Don't know why you didn't receive the announcement(s). I would give them a call.

Russ
It's not advertised on my Homepage @ Ancestry. Anyway, I went to the store, it wasn't listed, but when I typed FTM 2011 in search box, it came up as $39.95.
So, I guess they are not giving us free upgrade from 2010.

Thanks for responding so quickly, Russ!
Rhoda,

PLEASE Call them. Also, check the Family Tree Maker message board on Ancestry. There are discount codes provided by other users.

It may not be free, unless you purchased 2010 recently, but it may be worth a look for a discount. I think the official discount has ended, but since you didn't receive an email, I'd call.

Only a suggestion.

Good luck,

Russ
I did send them an email, Russ!
I'll check it out.

Thanks!

Rhoda
Rhoda,

Great.

Good luck,

Russ
