Pretty picture! Did you have Confederate ancestors at Gettysburg? Did you know we have an active chat community on Gen Wise? There are often people in the room to do lookups, answer questions, give advise or just talk. We also have scheduled chats. Please join us sometime.
Do you have any Andrews in your Allee research yet? Years ago I was given some Allee stuff, on paper, that may help depending on how much you now. They are mostly in Virginia in the 1700's, I have not looked at the papers in years.
My great grand father was Alexander Alley from Maine. I am learning that the Alley family was widely spread out on the east coast. My family moved to Oregon but many dropped of at different places along the way. If you can go back to Sir John Alley from England then we are definately related in the mix. Happy hunting. I know I am having fun at this and I am just getting started with what little info I have. Have you been running ancestry.com? It has a lot of info but you do need to confirm your findings as much is entries and not always facts. I happen to be lucky enough to have a 20 yr veteran at this guiding me and giving me pointers.
Tom, I don't have much. My father's mother was an Alley, Juanita Ruth Alley, born in Larwill, Indiana and moved to Mishawaka Indiana. One younger brother, George, who died in 1922. Juanita's father was Edward W. Alley, and his father was Omer Alley of Ohio.
