I've seen the ancestry information. Family lore -- including my late uncle Jack Packard and probably his siblings from whom some of the other researchers/posters are descended -- said Hamilton, Vermont, too, but I have no evidence that he or his parents ever were in Vermont. One participant in Canadian Genealogy here on GenealogyWise told me that he found information on the LDS FHL site that Oscar indeed was born in Canada. Earlier census listings for him say Canada, and I think that is correct. I am going to order some films from the LDS FHL looking for information, but I think he was born in Hamilton, Ontario. I also don't think there ever has been a Hamilton, Vermont, but I am also going to check some old gazetteers to be sure.

Thanks for the comment!

I'm in New Brunswick. You should be able to find marriages in 1945 at the Provinicial Archives online @
http://archives.gnb.ca/Archives/Default.aspx?culture=en-CA

Most marriages in 1945 should be there..if it isn't then it just hasn't been entered yet.
