My gr.gr. grandmother was Elizabeth Ann Brown married to James Hill Lassiter. He was a veteran of the Civil war. She was the daughter of John George Washington Brown and Sarah Carruthers. I believe these Browns came from South Carolina to Georgia
My gr.gr. grandmother was Sarepta Jane Stallings married to Samuel Tally. I am descended from her daughter Susan Ophelia Tally married to James H. Burks of Carroll county, Georgia. I have an old photo of Sarepta Jane with lots of other people in front of an old house. It looks like it might be a photo of a reunion. I dont know if it would be Stalling, Tally, Burks or maybe a Whitaker reunion, her mother was Johanna Whitaker.
