For what reason did you start genealogy research?
Started at the age of 10 listening to my grandparents' stories. At 18, I visited my maternal grandfather's place of birth, located distant family members, and returned several years later for a reunion. Following that, I went to the National Archives, DAR Library, Library of Congress, Family History Centers, and ultimately Salt Lake City.

Thank you Diane. My dad's side of the family is from NC but I'm thinking parts of it may go back to VA but I've not gotten that far, yet. What's the best way to get the results to you. Just post them here or e-mail them to you? To tell you the truth I was a little surprised by the results. Not that I don't realize the history of slavery but based on the pictures of my granddad (he was already deceased when I came along) I just didn't think there would be. Oh and please know that I'm not ashamed of that just wasn't expecting it on that line. I've always been about finding my ancestors regardless because they are my history and I wouldn't be here without them.
