This group was created for anyone who would like to add a link , or a tip for anything to do with genealogy. I really would like to get as many free tips , or sites as we could. However, I know there are some great pay sites out there for research.

Your surname is spelt the same as my maternal great-grandfather John Wertz. It seems that the family changed the spelling in the 1870's. Do you have any relatives in Monroe County IL?

I presume that you are interested in my Hoff family. My g4-grandfather, Johann Jacob Hoff was born in Weidelbach, Hesse, in 1751 and came to the US just before the Revolution. He died in Bradford Co., PA, in 1831. My information on the family is posted on Ancestry.com, but if you want to see more detail, go to Rootsweb.
