- Hi Peggy, My Seip's originated from Germany, rumored to sail on the Penn fleet of ships, they were Pennsylvania Dutch, Mennonite. I have not been able to determine where from Germany. My last proven Ancestor was Peter Seip, born March 12 1790, we believe in Northampton county Pa. We believe peter's father immigrated from Germany. Peter died in Butler County, PA (Western, Pa) 1881. He fathered 7 children with his spouse Catharine Bollinger.
