Am attaching a 1900 census for an S. ?C. Cowan; the index entry at Ancestry has been annotated to note this as Sherwood Campbell Cowan. This census reports includes the entry for a "M. A. Wilson," born Dec 1832 at Arkansas, said the…
Cyndi: I have both Rutledge's and Cowan's in my line. They are in Augusta Co, Va and Sullivan County, Tn and maybe NC. Working on that.
I dont have any Elijah names. Is this line an R1a or R1b. Mine is R1b.

Hi Cyndi:
Thank you for supporting the Most Wanted group.
You wrote, "...Elijah was the inspriation for the whole R1a project...." We are honored! All the more reason we'll hope to advance this with you.
Took a look at the 1850…
Hi there Cyndi:
Welcome to the group, "Most Wanted! Ancestors Lost and Found." Thank you for your support. I see you've also introduced us to Elijah Cowan. Here's to mending that broken link! Thank you again. --GJ
Pet peeve brickwall ancestor! According to census records, Elijah was born ca 1800 in NC, but I first find him in Henry Co, GA in 1830 & in 1840. By 1850 he is in Louisiana with a wife named Sarah A. Both he & she are mysteries! Always looking for help/cousins from this line!Incidentally, Elijah is NOT one of the "7 brothers" or the "4 brothers" oft-discussed in Cowan genealogies. Elijah is one of a very small group of Haplotype R1a Cowans who all match each other but can't find our…See More

Cyndi - Can you please resize your photo in LOST FACES group and upload again so it doesn't stretch out of shape? See my instructions above the Discussion Forum area. It looks like a lovely photo but we need to see it clearly:-)
Hi all,
I believe this to be my g-g-g-g-g-great-grandmother, Sarah (Sally) Warren b. ca 1875 Mass, d. aft 1870 TN or NY, apparently in a time when people didn't have shoulders! It's tintype (I think) and part of an album belonging to my…
Correction it was William George Rutledge with Eleanor Caldwell with above information. William George's father was born in Scotland....I think this Rutledge information I got from someone else. Would have to check.
Haven't posted on any of the sites until recently when I started trying to find my brick walls. I want to print what I have this year (if possible) and put 30+ research to rest for a while. I have all of my lines, my exs lines and my daughter-in-law and brother's lines...none totally complete but a good run at it. I want it printed before I get too senile to do anything more :) I have the Rutledges back to General George and Eleanor Caldwell but I have conflicts on where they were born. Have had information they were born in Tyrone County, Ireland but also have Prince Edward County, Va. Haven't worked real hard on this as Robert married Nancy Rutledge (daughter of above) and I can't put Robert on back. Figured the Rutledge (Routledge) would come easier. Who is your Rutledge?

Hi Cousin! I descend from Henry Boggess IV and Jane Cox. I had the pleasure of meeting you and your dad in Virginia in 2001 at the Boggess Family Reunion. I have been following your DNA study from time to time, but have not yet joined.
