My North Carolina families are Cable, Crayton, Beeson, and Blalock. Cable family mainly from Greensboro. Crayton, Beeson and Blalock line left N.C. for Indiana about the 1830's.

Hi everyone: I am interested in any information regarding African-Americans in Louisburg (Franklin County) North Carolina. Anything related to the slave years, or the 19th century in general, churches and cemeteries (black) or schools, in surrounding areas, such as Albion Academy or Mary Potter School would peak my interest. Surnames of interest are Yarborough, Green(e), Dunstan or Dunston, or Shaw, but I'll scan anything about anyone from the county!

I am researching the following surnames from the Charlotte area: Warren, Black, Graham, and the Frederick family of Raleigh. I'm also trying to find info on my GGrandfather Gene Karnes, who was born in western NC about 1870. Karnes is the adopted parents name; he was adopted by them after his parents died; their surname was Taylor. Gene's son, my Grandfather, was Roy E Karnes who was born around 1898 in east TN.

I have tried off and on for many years trying to establish a link between the Cornelius Patrick family of Chocowinity, Beaufort Co NC and that of Bryan and Cornelius Fitzpatrick family of Chowan Co NC. The only link that i have is information from a land deed found at the NC Archives for Cornelius "Pitch" Patrick in the 1780s.
