Hi everyone. I am researching Prevette ( Wilkes, Surry, Iredell counties and all spellings as we are told it was different in the early 1900's), Warner ( Anson and Montgomery ), Hellen (Pitt), Vannoy ( Wilkes) and Pope ( Marshville area as well as Cabarrus County). I am also searching for any info on my grandmother Etta Carpenter..maiden name..possibly born around 1871 to 1886 around the Wilkes county area.

By the way, I have started a Wiki site for North Carolina County resources. Feel free to view it here, but beware it is still in the works. All comments appreciated :)

Good evening, everybody. I'm researching McCurry and Tipton from Mitchell County. They may have been in Yancey County before part of it became Mitchell County. Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'll share any info I have that you may need. :)

I was born and raised in Cleveland County and currently live in Mecklenburg if anybody needs any assistance in those two counties.

As far as my own ancestry, looking for Everett in Martin and Pitt counties and Ewell and Jones in Martin county. Will provide the details later.

Anybody have any connections to Gideon Lewis (ca 1765-1842) of Ashe Co., NC? Between two wives, he reputedly had 17 children ... should be a lot of descendants.

I have McGlohon, Williford, Cherry ancestors in Hertford and Bertie counties. With so few
records available in Hertford it is hard to make much progress expecially with McGlohon.

My gg-grandfather was Joseph H. Thomas. According to 1850, 1860, and 1970 US census he was born in Bertie County, NC. He's my brickwall. The earliest information I have on him is a 1849 marriage certificate to my gg-grandmother Sarah Jane English. He was born around 1795 and she was born in 1828. The difference in age makes me wonder if he had been married previously. Would welcome any suggestions!
