Anyone researching the Merrikin family? I have a tree over on Geni.com with a lot of Merrikins, but there are still many missing...

Yes yes yes Brian ! At last another Merrikin. I am descended from Elizabeth Merrikin 1794-1865 born in Hull, d of William Merrikin (mariner) chr Grainthorpe Feb 1761, son of Wiliam Merrikin and Sarah Bernie. William jnr founded a Hull dynasty and I have quite a lot on them- they were well to do tradesmen. I've got nothing further back than Wm snr, but I'm fascinated by the fact there's a spot on the Lincs coast not far from Grainthopre called Merrikin's Landing. I can let you have the Hull branch with pleasure.
Hi Liz! Good to hear from you. My ancestors come from Louth, I haven't seen any from Hull, but as I said, there's a lot missing. If you send me an message direct with your email address I will send you a "friend" invite from geni.com so you can take a look at our tree. If you are on Facebook, one my confirmed distant cousins has a Merrikin group established. You can check it out here: http://www.facebook.com/groups.php?ref=sb#/group.php?gid=38827763081. I'd love to collaborate.
