Hi, it's me again,
I am pretty sure that I have put the wrong parents to my 3rd Gt Grandfather. I need to unlink him to them and to his grandparents and also his siblings. How do I do it so that he stays where he is along with all his descendants, so that I can add another parent to him
Carolyn
yes thank you Rick that is a great help. I couldn't find anything in Help that did.

Carolyn: Did you back up the images when you backed up your family tree file. If you did back up the images you have to unzip them and put them in the exact same folder on his computer. That way Legacy can find those images. That is the main reason Legacy installs on your C drive and not in the program folder. When he opens the zip file for the images it will show him the path to them so he will have to put them in the same place. If by chance you have put all your pictures in your documents folder he will have to reattach every image to the file on his computer as the paths will not be the same. HINT: On my computers I created a folder called Legacy Images on my C: drive and store all my images there. so no matter what computer I put my tree on all I need do is copy that folder and the images are in my tree when I open it. If you put the images where Legacy wants you to in its program folder then if your husband puts them in the same place the program will find them. Hope this helps.
Hi,
I have sent a backup of my family files to my husbands computer to put on Legacy but the pictures are not on there.. How does he enter the multimedia files to his Legacy file.
Carolyn
Thank you, Brian.
At some point I had capitalized first letters resulting in 24,000+ 'Of's in place of 'of's (as in King Of/of France) - all now corrected!
That's great Thanks
Carolyn
Hi,
I was checking through a report I have made and noticed on lots of people there is a Y in the death notes. I haven't put it there. Is there a reason for it and is there a way I can delete them en masse without going to each individual.
Thanks
Carolyn
As a result of working on the same family tree at two computers (desktop and a laptop while on vacation) I had a lot of things to "coordinate" but got them all equal
now but ended up with 7 names with different RIN. Is there some "easy" way to
change them? Moral of the story is don't do what I did. :-)
I used the split screen and for notes the ctrl c- ctrl v , but for simpler things a lot of typing. :-)

1) Which name in Normal Family View - your choice - my choice the one on the birth certificate with the other in AKA.
Yes I would add a note and if I knew the date and place of the change I would create a Name Change Event.
Legally changed given name: One of my great-nephews (I think that's right)
was born (and probably raised) with a name and at some point changed it to
(it may have been a middle name) another.. SO which name should be in the
normal "Family View" and I assume the other in the AKA file. Also should
a note of some sort be added elsewhere ?
