I think that I have located three living distant relatives in Denmark through the use of the online churchbooks.  Now to use google translate and send them snail mails.

Hi Connie,

Here is what I have found on your family.  All the records are from Als Sønder, Sønderborg.

Hans Hansen Hollænder was born on 17 Nov 1860 in Notmark, parents Hans Hansen Hollænder and Cathrine Christine Matthessen.  Other children of the same parents, all born in Notmark.

stillborn girl deliverd on 22 Aug 1859.

Anna Marie Hollænder born on 9 Nov 1863.

Cathrine Dorthea Vilhelmine Hællander born on 7 Sep 1866.

Christen Hansen Hollænder born 11 Apr 1869, died 10 Mar 1870.

Hans Hansen Hollænder and Cathrine Christine Mathiesen were married on 30 May 1858 in Asserballe.

Hans Hansen Hollænder was born in Tandslet on 14 Jun 1834, parents Hans Hansen Hollænder and Dorthe Cathrine Wilhelmine Petersen.

Cathrine Christine Mathiesen was born in Notmark on 10 NOv 1832, parents Christen Daniel Mathiesen and Ane Marie (can't make out the last name.

Connie Underwood, re Hans (John) Hollander

May I suggest that you do what Logan did above and "+Add a Discussion" so that your inquiry does not get lost on the wall. You need to be logged in to see the button. 

Can you give us more to go on? Birth dates, immigration dates, other family names... and especially with John, where lived, occupations, any census data, and death data. How about his family? Was he in a Danish lodge? church?

Hello

   I am looking for information on the Hans (John) Hollander family.  John was born in 1860 he came to America with his father Hans.  Do not know where in Denmark they were from however.  Thanks in advance for any info or advice.
