Greetings from Oklahoma. I am researching my gggrandfather, Christopher Columbus Spraggins and am having major problems. Anyone in the Dadeville, Tallapoosa Co. area who is willing to assist? I know who his grandparents were and his mother's first name; but, can't verify who his father was. Lots of speculation from various cousins; but, no proof. Thanks, Linda.

Looking for Kuhns from Switzerland, thought to be a part of the Olive and Vine people who worked for the French near Demopolis, Alabama about 1820

Howdy to the new members of Alabama Root Diggers!

I am so thrilled with the popularity of GenealogyWise! The more popular it becomes, the more folks to come who may hold the key to our family puzzles!

REMINDER: Please check to see if the COUNTY Discussion Forum already exists before you create a new one. Doing this will make it easier for other researchers seeking and/or sharing information to find use collectively.

For example, researchers with Ancestors in BARBOUR County {like myself}, post your SURNAMES there and so on...

A year from now - if not sooner, we will have a forum for EVERY researcher, in EVERY Alabama County to be represented!

Happy Digging!:-)

Hi Luckie,
I don't know what county he was birth in. But he had a brother named James that was born in 1820. James showed up with him in the 1870 census in Caldwell,Tx.Sarah Caroline that was born in 1829.
Hope this helps. He a hard to find anything before he moved to Texas.
