Are you from the UK Hume line?  My Hardins trace back into that line.  Also, where are your Thompsons from?  My line is from the Covenantors who settled Maryland in the mid 1600s.

Hi- I am looking at my book titled, "Descendants of Nicholas Humes of Massachusetts, the First Five Generations" Vol. 1, by Charles Warren Humes, Ed D. In this generation book he starts with Nicholas Humes, b. ca. 1690, Scotland, occ. Housewright, m. (1) 15 Mar. 1713/14, inn Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, Joanna Everton, (2) Margaret (last name not known). Charles states that the origians is not known, maybe of a Shipwright since Joanna's family was of a prominent shipping family.
I would like to know whatever else is from these Humes' families,
Craig.

Hi Craig,
I think I am connected to the Home family as well. I have traced the connection to George Hume who came to Virginia from Scotland in the 1760s. From my research, I believe he participated in the Jacobite rebellion.

Hi. I'm not related to the Homes but have done quite a lot of research into some of the family, particularly those connected with Paxton House and Wedderburn in Berwickshire from present back to mid 16th century. If you know who originally started your line in the US I may be able to expand the infor on this side.
