Hello, looking for information on or relatives of Alphonse Theodore Jacobsen, born 28 Oct.1894, West Hoboken, New Jersey. Parents- Antonio Nicolou Gasparo Jacobsen, b.Denmark 2 Nov. 1850 (renowned painter and sketched of ships at Hoboken docks) and Mary Melania Schmidt of Massachusetts. Alphonse married my grandmother, Anna Grace (Peggy) Smith in New York City on 21 Aug. 1921, and he died Sept. 1962. Last address Huguenot Park, Staten Island, NY. Trying to prove parentage of their (?) daughter, Edythe Mae Jacobsen ((My mother) born 10 March 1923 in South Orange, NJ or Jersey City, NJ. Any and all help will be enormously appreciated.

Thanks, Larry. Will be waiting for any reply you may get. I want to start researching early for this trip so I can plan my finances, time and itinerary.

Dear Molly: I've written an e-mail to my relatives in Denmark. If I get an answer from them, I'll post it to your site.

Hi Everyone... I have not been on this site in quite a while, but want to start getting back more regularly. I am tentatively planning a trip to Denmark some time in 2011 or maybe 2012 to visit the village where my great-grandfater was born. I am wondering if anyone would give a a recommendation for a Danish genealogy tour company that I could work through. Any other pertinent suggestions would be welcomed also. Thanks in advance..

My grandfather, Niels Anton Hansen (1877-1967) was born in Nebel, Rarup, Vejle and died in Seattle. My grandmother, Karen Marie Olesen (1877-1966) was born in Havrbjerg, Nebsager, Vejle and died in Seattle. 3 of my grandfather's siblings immigrated to the US before he did. All ended up in Washingon State.

Linda: Forgot to mention that Hans Jensen Roed and Marie Susanna Povelsdotter were married 9 August 1771 and that Ellen was christened on 21 May 1772....I was looking at the parent's marriage date when I wrote the previous comment. Sorry about that.

I found a Hans Peter Folsted married to a Lusie Sophie Elisabeth Octved on 30 May 1831 and wondered if that was your line. Ellen Kirstine Roed (Rod) was christened in Holmens sogn on 9 August 1771. Her parents were Hans Jensen Roed and Marie Susanna Povelsdotter.
