Hi CUZ. Thank you for inviting me as a friend. Now I not only have you as a Wakefield CUZ but could have you as a Barnes CUZ too as my mother's grandmother was a Barnes and my father's grandmother was also a Barnes... I can't find any connection (thank goodness, otherwise I would have to admit that is why I am the way I am)!!!!
My mother's Barnes line hits a brick wall at her Father, Milburn C. (Believe it is Charles) Barnes born 1718 in VA... but the town is not known, therefore back then it could have been West Virginia as that boundary was changed over time. My dad's grandmother Barnes is Olive Hill Small 1857-1944 Born Long Lake, Hennepin, MN, who married Shepard Blanchard Barnes 1819- 1898 born Kingfield, Franklin, Maine, his father was Nathanial B. Barnes 1773-1851 born Lee Penobscot, Maine, and his father was Nathanial Barnes 1742 in Harpswell, Maine. then his father Nathanial (DUH) born in Ireland. So, if I could find out more about my mother's Barnes we would have a better idea if we are also related in the Barnes group....but we both have Barnes and Wakefield, What a hoot! CUZ Molly
My Beach line begins in the USA with Connecticut and the three brothers that came from England and can be traced back to the knights of old. Have a cousin Ph.D that I work with. Cousin Horace believes we trace back to the name De Le Beche. Believe he is right. We may be able to help each other.
Actually, Dawson is my married name...I haven't actually started on my husband's genealogy yet. Still working on mine. My maiden name is Guinty. My husband's name is George Dawson, from California. We live in Reno, Nv. Nice to meet you, Al!
Yes, he is my 9th great grandfather. I have some info on him and also the book from the Great Migration that he is in. He is also my husbands 9th ggrandfather. Where do you come in on the Knapp line?
